Interested in learning Byzantine Iconography? This is a rough overview of the curriculum for the iconography video tutorials I am producing on Patreon with the aim of making a series of video tutorial courses on various aspects of Byzantine iconography, starting from freehand drawing and progressing to painting with the proplasmos and underpainting techniques. I'm currently working on the fifth drawing tutorial. The exact order of the videos may change and I may add additional videos depending on what students’ need are. Without your support this can't happen! Please click the button below to become a Patron and pass this on to anyone interested in learning Byzantine Iconography or who might be interested in supporting this project.
A PDF of the curriculum can be downloaded here:
The fourth of the tutorials I am producing on Patreon is now available for Patrons. In this video we study how to draw the face in a reverential (downward facing) 3/4 pose. In the next tutorial we will be studying the upward facing 3/4 pose. Here is a preview of the tutorial. The full 30 minute tutorial is available for as little as $5 per month. It is your support that makes these tutorials possible! Sign up at the link below the video!
This is a sample preview of my second Patreon Tutorial that will be posted at the end of the month. here you will see how to draw the face in the dynamic frontal pose on curved axes.
I've decided to make a distinction in the rewards between Students and Supporters so that Patrons can choose the rewards that suit them best.I have added a $25 level for students who will have access to the time-lapse sketch videos that will become a regular feature and help to show the process of drawing.
I have also added a $50 level for Students who will be given a monthly drawing assignment that I will critique and correct. As it is impossible for me to answer everyone's questions about iconography, this tier will be limited to 5 places and the critique commentary will only concern the homework assignments.
I may in future add a further exclusive level for advice and critique on Patron's personal work depending on the demand.
Thank you for your support!
